It Is a Weed Theme, True Story! with Honcho Swerver & The Hazy Eyed Smiles

It’s another New Wax Podcast, where we do our best to bring you the best in Independent Music that was sent to us…most of which comes to our twitter account!

Tonight we get yet another tee-shirt idea from Luppy:

“Feeling Good! Feeling Fine! Nothing but New Wax on my mind!”

In the start of tonight’s show we get an update on Living Luppy, and he is almost at his first goal! Way to go Luppy!

Than Joe and Luppy give us an update on their record label, and there is some pretty big news. It seems that Lupped Up Records has a new artist with a new single coming out this month…so stay tuned for that! They also have put a their first “web director on staff, some guy named Carl….hey wait a minute…

Joe also brings us up to date on his Kickstarter project to cover Nine Inch nails “Piggy” and here is a little sample from Soundcloud (I mean if your not listening to the podcast!):

Joe shows his nipples of to the group, why is beyond me…and this leads me to a real question that I would like an answer to from this listeners. Would you be willing to pay a small subscription fee (say $5.00 a month) to see the raw video feed of us recording the show? Please let us know on Twitter, Facebook, or in the comments below!

FINALLY! We talk about the first band of the night Honcho Swerver and the shocking fact that he found “Weed, Money, and B***hes” all in the same place.

While we cover this song Joe joins me on the “language side,” maybe he is getting old too? I know Luppy THINKS he is getting old because he…bought a doormat?

Next up we talk about the Hazy Eyed Smiles. The Hazy Eyed Smiles were formed in February 2011, when Phil Thompson and Pete Lawrence met via a website called join my band. After going through many lead guitarists and bass players, the final line up finally came in November 2011, when Lee Rapson joined on lead guitar followed by Dan Stagg on bass.

All four had been playing in different bands for over ten years, so when they eventually crossed paths and got into a practice room they hit the ground running.

Now they have a radio interview and a series of gigs behind them, plus gigs booked up till the end of the year and a growing fanbase., everything is continuing in the right direction…

And as we close out Joe and Luppy make fun of me for listening to Clif Ravescraft! We ask Pandora and GoToMeeting to sponsor the show, and I give a shout out to Tony from The 76th Street podcast for our first iTunes rating, do you listen via iTunes? Leave us a rating!

Lastly don’t forget we are supporting the Podcast Awards and we are shooting for a Stitcher Awards.
