New Wax Podcast Listens to Various Hands & Rouzy Rouz

On this episode of New Wax…we learn that New Wax really is all about feelings!

Joe just went 2 rounds with Mike Tyson (not really but it sounds better than what really happened) and tries to do the show with 2 cracked ribs. We talk about Luppy and his vlog “Living Luppy,” where we learn about his (and Carl’s) weight loss.

And make sure to check out Joe’s new web site!

Than we cover the band “Various Hands.”   The are a band out of St. Louis, Missouri. Their music is catchy and appealing

and will make you want to move your body in a convulsive type of way that might otherwise be considered “dancing” while at the same time it touts uniqueness and fresh energy that is becoming a lost art in today’s industry. Various Hands combines an indie dance rock style of music with singer/guitarist Jeff Nations’ signature life-is-good lyric motif. Guitarist Zach Meier and drummer Ben Pitts round out a lineup of experienced, seasoned musicians. Their debut EP, This Party Will Be Fun., solidifies Various Hands’ feel-good message, upbeat rhythms and otherwise unorthodox views on what life (and music) should consist of and be recognized for these days.

We go on to cover Luppy’s release of “Fireworks,” which you can get in iTunes, or right here in the New Wax store.

After that we cover Rouzy Rouz  He released his first mixtape in July 2011 “Duty Calls” and received much recognition for his work and was signed under management with MTV’s very own Shawn Isaac. In less than a year Rouzy Rouzhad the opportunity to work with tophip hop artists, engineers, and producers in the industry and released his new hit single “Dance On Me”

I hope you like the show!

And a big shout out to 76th Street Podcast, for the awesome review in iTunes!

P.A.T. MOTHER WAX! I mean P.A.T. and Mother on New Wax

On this episode of the New Wax Podcast we talk about how Joe Joe Keys knows people…who I am not sure…but Luppy insists that Joe, knows people! We cover P.A.T. and their song “Elevator Music.”

Do know Lil’ Kim song on “Crush on You,” well the guys think that P.A.T. is on that type of sound…

Luppy once again explains what a “Southern Booty Band” is to me…guess I am kind of slow.

And the guys opened for 2 Live Crew?? What??

After that we dive into Mother. I like this band and I explain why.

Luppy admits to to being more Hip-Hop than rock, but you still need to know the key your working in.

We have another t-shirt in the works “New Wax Podcast: Rock out with your thingy out,” “New Wax Podcast: Bar Piano Players Hate you,” and “New Wax Podcast: Suck it FCC.”

So drop in and see what else we are talking about…Luppy used to write jingles?

P.A.T. is from Opelousas, Louisiana and has been seriously doing music since ’02 traveling just
about everywhere in the nation building up the awareness of his presence in the
music world!

With his 1st BIG project just recently hitting the masses (NO ROOFTOPS Pt.1 FUN-DA-MENTAL TRILL~O.G hosted by DJ BEDTYME357), you would thank that even if he wasn’t looking for another family, someone has to be ringing their phones off the hook for features and the option of making a major move here in the Music World!
Couldn’t believe this guy worked for SoSo Def/Virgin Records or did shows all over NYC, Fla, Vegas, Cali, Texas, Various other places & of course Louisiana? Well if not check into it on his myspace.com and youtube pages -/WHATCHAKNO- and you will see Louisiana’s Finest on the stage with Snoop
Dogg, Dougie Fresh, Jazze Pha, Lil Wayne, Slim Thug, David Banner, JadaKiss, JD
and Nelly and im sure you get the drift that somethings bound to happen! The
music is witty and nothing short of AMAZING, “if it sounds UnBELIEVEable just
Believe ME it is, No Rooftops is just saying im here, WATCH WHEN I TAKE YOU
INSIDE YOU WILL KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT KIND OF ARTIST THAT YOU’VE BEEN
WAITING FOR A LONGTIME!!”

When you hear the word “Mother,” what comes to mind? The word in itself is strong, forceful, and commanding, while bringing about a life giving, nurturing feeling. This group of four from the New York metropolitan area encompasses the above and much more. From the stage, Mother is in charge, much like in the household. The energy and confidence is what drives each performance of their heavy, groove-driven aural fix. Meanwhile, the songs will scoop you up by the hips and hold you in place searching for more once the last note settles.

Formed in the spring of 2011, these newborns have grown fast enough to fulfill the duties of their moniker in a very short time. Upon asking, the guys might tell you they met on E-Harmony, or in a Guatemalan jail cell. The truth: the perfect combination of being in the right place with the right people at the right time. Vocalist Nick Fargo and Bassist Johnny Bass had a previous musical relationship in the New Jersey based Zodiac. The dissolution of this group sparked an introduction to guitarist Mike Gowen, fresh off the bus in NYC eager to find a match. While attempting the combination of a second guitar player, drummer Anthony Sciasci migrated north on the Turnpike with a passion for the heavy grooves that drive the machine they call Mother.

Mother prides itself on its internal dissonance. Hence the name of their debut release, Dissonant Young. Upon meeting it was hard to get a feel for what road their sound would take. These fellas closed their eyes, and let it take over. A listener may be able to pick out bits and pieces of individual influences, but as a whole, this is something new. Taking hints from monsters like Sabbath and Zeppelin, passing it through the compositions of Queen or Muse, and surrounding it with bottom heavy reminders of Pantera and Soundgarden; these being just a few pieces of the sonic puzzle.  Tack on a well placed piano and a mixed vocal style marrying the likes of Layne Staley and Jeff Buckley, you are well on your way to a solution.

MoleHill Rockin The New Wax!

This week on New Wax we talk about MoleHill, a rockin’ band out of Chicago.

As Jesse Menendez from WBEZ, 89.5FM and 91.5FM Chicago says:

“Do not be fooled by the name. Chicago’s Molehill is more like a mountain constructed with big guitars, melodic keyboards, and pounding drums. Combining elements of progressive rock with pop sensibilities along with expansive and emotionally charged lyrics, this band delivers a symphonic listening experience.”

AND! MoleHill is giving away their music for FREE in the New Wax Store!

On the first ever New Wax podcast we talk about the band “Face The King.”

On the first ever New Wax podcast we talk about the band “Face The King.”

Face The King is an independent alternative hard rock band out of New York. The Face The King has compiled a list of support from sponsors like:

Vox www.voxamps.com

Blackstar www.blackstaramps.co.uk

Korg www.korg.com

Spector www.spectorbass.com

Pigtronix www.pigtronix.com

And most recently TC Helicon www.tc-helicon.com

These high-powered sponsors enabled Face The King to fly across the country to play for NAMM 2012 in front of the entire music industry.

Face the King is:

Eric Zirlinger (singer/guitarist/keyboardist)

Dan DelVecchio (lead guitar, backup vocals)

Joey Dammacco (bass, backup vocals)

Randy Palumbo (Drums).

Face the King most recent EP, “The Burning & The Falling Down,” was produced by Steve Haigler (http://stevenhaigler.com), who has produced such bands as Brand New, The Pixies, and Fuel.

They are currently finishing up their new EP. Than Face The King will be touring the tri-state area during the summer of 2012, starting with a sold out show at Gramercy Theater at the end of March. Face The King is ready to take the stage this summer – promising to offer a show and an EP worth every bit of the hard earned money people work for every day. The summer of 2012 will be Face The King’s summer – with a new record, new fans, new venues, but the same work ethic that has gotten them this far. Face The King is not waiting for a label to hand them a deal – they are earning it the way it was meant to be earned… by hitting the road and making new fans.

Face The King invites everyone to listen to the new EP and to come and sing along at shows, believing that the live show is an experience that is shared between the band and the audience.  Currently playing to packed houses all around the NY Tri State Area, Face The King is earning the reputation as a band you need to experience live.
